Online Games I've Played!
(Only apply to Malaysians) Do you remember in 2001~2002, when one of the first Korean MMORPG* games came to Malaysia. It started out free and it was the first MMORPG game I played,
*MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game
The first and (so far) the only MMORPG that I can play for years and stop for essential reasons and continue later. This is not a review or anything, just a page about refer-to-title.
Games I'm Looking Forward to:
- is the second MMORPG I tried after having difficulties with RO changing to a P2P* Game. The first side-scrolling RPG I found with its cute avatars and unique gameplay (long ago). Stopped because of it's pathetic levelling system and imba** game concept.
*P2P = Pay2Play
**imba = imbalance
- a recommendation from a friend after I stopped playing Maple. Was attracted to the theme of schools and students fighting in the backyard. However, the graphics are abominable.
GUNZ ONLINE
- same story with Ran online. They're almost the same except that Gunz uses, as the name implies, Guns, and no-more school stuff. The game is addicting until you're at level 20. Not enough content makes you bored, and sooner or later, stop playing the game.
CABAL ONLINE
- Joined the community when it first came out in SEA*. That time it was a fresh new game with no 'pros' in it. All are newbies. Fascinating game with it's classes and skill effects but quite imba during the early parts. Stopped for awhile waiting till I start feeling like I want to play again.
*SEA = South East Asia
DRAGONICA
- the first game I played from an ad. It's quite similar to MapleStory with it's side-scrolling system but with a little bit more punch to it with its combo system and cuter graphics. Even the most hideous of monsters are made into cute-ish little beings. Its party system is out of the ordinary. Rather than partying up and grinding in normal maps. They have special quest maps. Of course for storyline quests and party plus grinding quests. The loots dropped in these maps are valuable. The game is fun from levels 1-20 that is about until you change into your second job. From then on it's the same routine over and over again.
PANGYA
- is the first online casual sports game I encountered. The first MMOG (I played) with no KILLING involved. It IS a golf game. It's attention-grabber is the game system. Power, accuracy, and WHAM! They have lotsa clubs, different clothings for style, a diverse choice of balls (the balls give different effects when they fly) and its amazing shots. Stopped because the SEA server is closed as it's full of holes for hacks. Now playing in the U.S. server. Same case as Cabal.
GUILD WARS
- the latest MMORPG I'm playing. Quite different from other RPGs because of its storyline and gameplay. The party system is even better. It allows you to invite NPCs as party members, kind of like a Mercenary System except its for free. So the game has its good stuff for people who prefer to play alone, or they can even invite friends to join in the fun. Unlike other MMOs the players are filled into one big map and so lagging happens. GW however only allows players to meet up in towns or outposts. But when they go out of the town, they have the whole map to themselves. There won't be any cases of KSing* or looting other players items. The graphics are lush and the avatars are superb. Have stopped playing this game altogether since I don't have enough motivation for this game.
*KS = Kill Steal, the act of stealing another players mob/EXP.
- S4 (Stylish eSper Shooting Sports) LEAGUE
The game that I really liked, but I guess I lost my interest in it. I totally love it, but I guess life has been too demanding. The game has this anime styled characters which you can choose to have either a male or a female, like any other usual games. Take note that certain games don't let you do that. The system of the game is that you rent the weapons in the game. Each of these weapons have a time limit according to how long you play in the game (therefore if you log off the time will stop, as you're not using the weapons you rented). For clothing however is different, whether you are in the game or not, time still moves. I have no idea why and I can't explain why but that's how the game goes.

GRAND CHASE
- Well I'm getting tired of explaining. I'll let Wiki do the talking for this one. Grand Chase is a free-to-play, two-dimensional side-scrolling MMORPG developed by the South Korean company KOG Studios. The gameplay in Grand Chase is primarily keyboard-driven, excluding the interface however as it requires you to use the a pointing device i.e. mouse. It uses a dungeon mode where for each dungeon you have to create a room and while it lets you play with three other players (making each room have four players per room) you can also go solo. Each dungeon has four levels with the three basic levels and one special level where you need a ticket to enter. Money is never a problem if you're just a casual player since you'll get your money by selling loots and you'll get EQs from quests instead of having to grind. You can also create your own set of EQs using it's Create/Dismantle option. There are many other fun elements inside the game that can be found. This is the online game that I stopped playing altogether because of a stoopid update that makes the game lost all sense of awesomeness.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
- The league of legends. Sounds pretty awesome eh? Indeed the game is awesome. Pretty much the same as DotA as it was made by the creators of DotA (Defense of the Ancients) and some of the them are from the team that created Warcraft III itself. Unlike DotA, LoL is an online game that has automated matchmaking. How does it matchmake you? According to your stats. If you've been getting straight wins, the computer will match you up with strong opponents. If you've been losing too much, they'll match you up with seemingly weaker opponents. But it doesn't really depend on your opponents, it also depends on your teammates. Teamwork is the most important detail, don't cooperate and you'll lose easily. You can get more info here: Learn About LoL. It'll be some time before I stop playing THIS game! >:)
Games I'm Looking Forward to:
- Star Wars: The Old Republic (I'm playing it!, will update later)
- Ragnarok Online 2 (doesn't seem cool enough as the old one)
- Guild Wars 2
